Welcome back to another Mocktail Monday! This lemon drop mocktail is an ode to one of my favorite cocktails and, if I’m being honest with you, I might like the mocktail version a little bit more than the OG cocktail.
It’s tart, refreshing, and easy to make – I’m hoping that this lemon drop mocktail becomes one of your new favorite drinks out there!
Ingredients
- Lemon
- Simple syrup
- La Croix Limoncello
- Ice
- Sugar
If you’d like, you can swap the La Croix Limoncello with some soda water (but I don’t recommend it). Using the limoncello sparkling water gives this lemon drop mocktail a bit more flavor, after all!
You can also skip the sugar if you don’t want to rim your glass. It’s completely up to you 🙂
Making a lemon drop mocktail
For this recipe, I highly recommend using a shaker glass.
If you’re looking for a good one, I’d recommend this one as it comes with everything you’ll ever need/want when making mocktails (and cocktails).
To make this lemon drop mocktail, place the ice, simple syrup, lemon juice, and the sparkling water into your shaker glass. Shake for about 20 seconds.
If you’d like to rim your glass with some sugar, take a lemon slice and gently rub the rim of the glass. Then, dip into sugar – super easy!
Pour your mocktail into the prepared glass and enjoy!

One final note about this mocktail
Have you ever had a lemon drop cocktail and thought to yourself that it was waaaaay too tart? You’re not alone! One of the most common questions I hear when I order a lemon drop cocktail or make lemon drop mocktails is “How can you drink that?! It’s way too sour!”.
I’m here to squash this question once and for all.
First, if your lemon drop mocktail is too tart, you didn’t add enough sparkling water.
You might have incredibly sensitive tastebuds and need to cut back on the amount of lemon juice used! Adding less lemon juice and more sparkling water will eliminate how tart your drink is. And if you feel like your lemon drop mocktail isn’t tart enough? Add more lemon juice!
Basically, don’t knock this lemon drop mocktail until you’ve tried it. See for yourself what ratio works best and go from there 🙂
