Happy Mocktail Monday, everyone! Today, you’re getting an incredibly easy (and delicious) drink that can be made in less than 5 minutes – a blood orange grapefruit mocktail!
Think of this mocktail as the little sister to my grapefruit paloma – it may not have the alcohol, but it makes up for it by incorporating another flavor! There’s no better way to celebrate citrus season than this mocktail.
Ingredients
- Blood orange sparkling water
- Simple syrup
- Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
- Freshly squeezed lime juice
- Ice
- Mint for garnish
If you’d like, you can use grapefruit sparkling water in place of the blood orange sparkling water!
If you plan on doing this, I recommend swapping the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice for some freshly squeezed blood orange juice just to even things out!

How to make simple syrup
I always suggest making your own simple syrup as its… well, really simple to make. However, if you want to purchase simple syrup, this one works really well. If you want to make your own simple syrup, keep reading!
Simple syrup is made with equal parts sugar and water. Add equal cups sugar and water to a saucepan and heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Please note: The mixture does not need to reach boiling temperature in order for the sugar to dissolve. If you’d like, you can even microwave the sugar and water in a microwave safe bowl.
Simple syrup should last you about 2 months in the fridge in a covered mason jar!
How to make a blood orange grapefruit mocktail
For this recipe, I highly recommend grabbing a cocktail shaker! I have this one and it’s never failed me 🙂
To start, fill your cocktail shaker with ice. Add in your fresh grapefruit juice, lime juice, simple syrup, and sparkling water. Shake for about 25 seconds or until the outside of the shaker is very cold (you may start to see some light frost on the shaker).
Strain your mocktail into a cocktail glass and, if you’d like, serve with a grapefruit slice and some mint leaves (or even a blood orange slice)!
