What's better than a traditional hot cocoa on cold days? This gingerbread hot chocolate, of course! In less than 5 minutes, this could be yours.

If you have leftover gingerbread cookies from the holiday season, I highly recommend pairing them with this incredibly creamy gingerbread hot chocolate! With notes of cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and molasses, this hot chocolate is sure to warm your soul during those chilly winter days.

This hot cocoa tastes just like a liquid gingerbread cookie and I’m super excited to share this recipe with you guys today!

Ingredients

  • Milk of your choice (I used oat milk)
  • Heavy cream
  • 1 4oz bar of chocolate, chopped (I prefer dark, but you can definitely use milk chocolate)
  • Cocoa powder
  • Molasses
  • Ground ginger, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon
  • Vanilla bean paste

If you want to get a bit fancy with your hot chocolate, I highly recommend also using some whipped cream and topping it with a gingerbread cookie. Whether you leave the cookie whole or crumble it on top of the whipped cream is totally up to you!

Alternatively, you could sprinkle some extra cinnamon to the whipped cream, add marshmallows, or just leave the gingerbread hot chocolate as is.
