How to Make a Butterfly Pea Powder Latte

This butterfly pea powder latte (AKA blue matcha) is perfect if you’re looking to cut down on caffeine! It’s easy to make and super fun to drink!


  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1 TBSP maple syrup (or honey)
  • 1 TBSP hot water
  • 1 TSP butterfly pea powder
  • 1 TSP vanilla extract


  1. Add the oat milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract to a small saucepan and simmer over medium low heat.
  2. While the milk is simmering, add the butterfly pea powder to a small bowl and mix in the hot water. Using a bamboo whisk (AKA a matcha whisk), vigorously mix the water and powder together until smooth.
  3. Once the milk is warmed to your liking, add in the butterfly pea mix and pour your latte into a cup.
  4. Using a handheld milk frother, froth your butterfly pea powder latte within the cup until your latte has frothed a bit. Enjoy 🙂
