Ingredients

To make this hot honey pizza, you’ll need:

  • Homemade pizza dough – I urge you to make your own pizza dough – but you can use store bought pizza dough too. If you’re after a homemade pizza dough recipe, here’s mine!
  • Homemade pizza sauce – Again, highly urge you to make your own pizza sauce! Feel free to use store bought if you’d like, or check out my homemade pizza sauce recipe here. It’s the one I use for literally any pizza I make. I use whole peeled tomatoes in my marinara sauce recipe – they make all the difference!
  • Mozzarella cheese – TBH, I think mozzarella cheese tastes the best with hot honey pizza. Though you can use any type of cheese you have at home (or just pick up your favorite cheese blend)! I’ve had some friends make this using goat cheese, ricotta cheese, and even vegan cheese! It’s truly up to you.
  • Pepperoni – For this hot honey pizza, I used tons of cup n’ crisp pepperoni!
  • Mike’s hot honey – Mike’s hot honey is essential for this recipe. It’s what makes a traditional pizza into a hot honey pizza! However, feel free to make some homemade hot honey instead of using Mike’s hot honey!
  • Red pepper flakes – If you want your pizza to be hot hot hot… you need to add some hot red pepper flakes!
  • Fresh herbs – I add fresh basil to my hot honey pizza – it’s optional but highly recommended!
  • Parmesan Cheese – Optional but recommended! I usually top my finished hot honey pizza with some grated parmesan cheese.

And that’s it!

Like I said before, use your imagination and any ingredients you have on hand to make your perfect hot honey pizza!

How to make hot honey pizza

Start by making the homemade pizza dough and homemade pizza sauce (both recipes are linked above in the ingredients section).

After the dough has been made (and doubled in size), you can start making the hot honey pizza!

Preheat your oven to 475 degrees Fahrenheit and place a pizza stone in the oven while the oven heats.

On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough out to your desired thickness. Then, gently place the pizza dough on a wooden pizza peel and lightly drizzle it with olive oil.

Top the pizza dough with the pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. Once you’re satisfied with how the pizza looks, gently slide the pizza off of the wooden pizza peel onto a pizza stone that’s been heating in the oven.

Bake for 15 minutes or until the crust is lightly golden brown in color and the cheese has completely melted. Remove your pizza from the oven and drizzle honey all over it. If you’d like, add some additional parmesan cheese and fresh basil to the pizza.

Remove your pizza from the pizza stone and enjoy!
