Thanks so much for stopping by my small corner of the internet – I’m grateful to have you here!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved everything about cooking (as well as baking). Knowing you can throw a few random ingredients together and (typically) get a tasty dish in return has always fascinated me.
Growing up, I’d spend hours watching the Food Network channel with my grandparents. Between Emeril Lagasse, Rachel Ray, Martha Stewart, Ina Garten, and so many more incredible chefs – I was bewildered.
It amazed me that these chefs could make mouth-watering dishes with a few ingredients and I knew that I wanted to do that when I grew up.
So much so, that I did! I have been a full time recipe developer since January 2018 and decided after 2022 that I would start my own food blog.
And… that’s where you are now!
The reason behind the name
I had such a tough time coming up with a name for my food blog. I had pretty much everything else read to go – the recipes, the pictures, the videos… but the name stumped me for a while.
A lot of the names that I ended up liking were either too similar to other creators (or taken altogether). Then, it hit me… “En Root Kitchen”. But, why? Here’s what I’ve come up with as to why I named my food blog En Root Kitchen…
When you think about it, We’re all sort of en route in our kitchen journey. Meaning, we’re always trying to strengthen our skills in the kitchen and it’s truly a never ending journey.
The play on the word “route” to “root” is fairly simple – I wanted something quirky and I also love gardening. I knew I wanted to incorporate my garden into my food blog as home grown foods + cooking go hand in hand!
At En Root Kitchen, you’ll find a multitude of recipes ranging from delicious desserts, easy weeknight dinners, and an occasional drink recipe!
You’ll also find gardening tips, tricks, how-to’s, and so much more.
